Lower position or not

sorry, I can’t post the pic here, cause they are proctected.

Anyway, should O lower position or not ? I rode like this in Ironman Arizona a 4u57 - 282 W bike split. (11th split or something) How much can I go faster, if lower ??

Well, you should certainly try lower and see if power and comfort are good. You are definitely on high end of the range for fast guys. How much faster would be pure speculation, but it looks like your hips are quite open, meaning you can go lower without compromising hip angle. Presumably, that would mean your power wouldn’t suffer.

Question: How did you arrive at that position? Have you tried lower in the past?

Lower ! Only man I have seen higher than me !

I have but not on this bike. I arrived without any backpain or stress in T2 and could have done another lap. Stayed aero all the time. So I guess I can try to lower it

piss of, go to work instead of lurking the tri-boards.

Looks like Michel Pollentier. He was fast too, though.

This would be better…

How do you like your Oomp shorts? I’ve been using DeSotos for a few years but was thinking of getting a pair. Does their sizing run large or small?

Oh yeah, the position looks a little high but you look powerful, a little like Jurgen Zack.

I don’t think you’re too high; look at where your kneecaps are in relation to your pedal spindles. I would move you BACK about an inch. You look “bunched up.”

funny, I moved me about an inch to front …

I like them alot, I rode with desot also and they are better. That is my opinion. Pad is thicker, so more comfy and doesn’t bather you on the run. Size is normal I have a Large

Go back… you can’t generate power if you are OVER the pedals; get behind them a bit more (knee caps slightly behind the pedal spindle)…also look at where your forearms are on your aeropads; they should be closer to your elbows.

Bike looks too small. Top tube too short.

In reply to usagold98’s qoute ‘Go back… you can’t generate power if you are OVER the pedals’

Could you explain you reason behind this, It seems Norman in the picture above is well over the pedals and he didn’t have any problem generating power, I’d like to hear why you think you can’t generate power over the pedals.

I’ve recently gone forward and am more powerful than before, although I do agree that Wimothy looks too far forward.

Cheers

Dave

not exactly, I am 1m82 but have long legs compared to upper body. A friend of mine is 1m90 and our saddle hight is the same.

you seem pretty compact…pretty short up there…either move back or get a bike with a longer top tube or a longer stem
.

I’d have to agree with Mike, your ears are well forward of your elbows and the angle of your upper arm to your body is much less than 90 degrees.

Just my opinion.
