Louisville Question...NON IM related...for those who live there

I’m headed to Louisville in October for a conference and to visit family.

Starting to plan my trip and was wondering about pools/masters swimming.

The conference will be at the Fairgrounds and I think I’ll be staying nearby (I don’t get to pick my hotel for this trip). Just wondering what pools and masters programs might be close, or how far of a drive should I plan on? Or if there are pools nearby that dont’ have masters programs that would be good info.

I’ll be bringing my bike too, so curious about riding in that area.

I’m trying to figure out how much longer I’ll stay in the area after the conference and how much training I can do will be a big part of it.

The downtown YMCA will be your best bet. It is only around 3 miles north of the Fairgrounds. Otherwise, you will have to drive at least 8 miles to other pools.

The best riding areas will be one of these 3 parks: Iroquois, Cherokee, or Seneca. They are all very bike friendly and actually have bike lanes. Each is within about 10 minutes drive of the Fairgrounds.

Hope this helps!

So is the Mary T. Maegher (I’m sure I spelled that wrong) swim center, isn’t it? I used the gym while I was there recently and it wasn’t far at all from Cherokee Park (where I also did plenty of riding).
