Lost Wheel Integrity?

I have a hilly 1/2 IM coming up and have noticed that my training/ racing/ general purpose rear wheel (Sun Rims) has hairline cracks on the rim where the spokes join it. Most are small (1/4") and not every spoke hole has them, but about half do. How imminent do you think the danger is here? I guess its new wheel time but was hoping to make it through the season. If its serious, can anyone recommend a fairly lightweight training/ racing/ general purpose wheel? And is it best just to get a new rim and use the old hub or just get the whole deal?

Thanks for helping out

Joe

New rim, spokes, and nipples, save the hub. Do it ASAP. There’s a thing about aluminum… Cracks grow rather quickly. I’d go with the Mavic Open Pro for the general purpose (not racing) wheel.

I’ll second the Open Pro sentiment. My set have been going strong for almost 30,000 miles now.

Thanks, I’m looking at those and the Ksyrium L’equipe maybe.
