Losing weight?

Why can’t I loose that last 5lbs…:0(
Yummmm…Reese’s
.

Stop eating more than 500 calories a day. That’s what I did for 5 weeks and lost 10lbs. Not recommended however.

And the bitch of it is, that Reese’s pumpkin season rolls right into Reese’s Christmas tree season…then heart, then egg and it never stops!

I’m in the same boat. About 5 pounds of random flab separating me from showing abs.

Beer.

I rationalize it by telling myself I’m still in better shape than 99% of people I see every day. But those thin bastards on all the podiums are busy laughing at me for thinking like that.

Because you replaced the first letter in your screen name with an uppercase B. bad mojo.

Eat less; exercise more.

Come on! Everyone always makes this harder than it needs to be. To lose weight:

Calories in < Calories out.

It is why I am glad and regretting everyday that I signed up for a open marathon on Superbowl Sunday. On the runs my mind thinks “one minute per pound, that is much easier than training.” In the office my taste buds say “are those dark chocolate mint Milkyway’s?”

Eat less; exercise more.

No, not hard to say…hard to implement :-)** **That being said I’d be happy with “Only 5lbs to loose”.

Harder than training for an Ironman? How about running a successful small business?

Liposuction.

Damn Fall/ Winter seasonal beers. I love them so much. It would be easier for me to lose the weight in summer if it wasn’t so freaking hot here. I don’t like summer beers. But at least I step up my long run/ rides in the cooler weather to compensate for the beer.

Harder than training for an Ironman?

Yes

** How about running a successful small business**?

and yes, for me anyway and I suspect for a lot of people.

I also think this will vary from individual to individual based on their “Relationship” to food. IOW while it may be no problem to NOT drink alcohol for one person, in fact they may not even like alcohol, it may be a near impossible task for an alcoholic.

Food is no different. We all see food differently and thus “Not eating” is harder for some than others.

I’d MUCH rather train for an Ironman than try to eat less or eat foods that are “Less good tasting”. You’re looking at 36 weeks with a max of 15-20 hours a week versus 16-18 hours a day of being “Tempted” and having to say no to food

Running a business actually INCLUDES saying no to food…especially this time of year when vendors start dropping of the holiday bribes.

Matt, you’re looking at it all wrong. You need to set up a free market system to make this work.

You have an body employee who wants to eat delicious food…because it’s delicious.

You have an body owner who wants to be trim – to be healthier, faster, sexier, more energetic, etc.

The two parties need to negotiate without government meddling. The employee just needs to realize that his bargaining position is weak, and that management might resort to stocking the company pantry with only rice cakes and tofu if he doesn’t shape up.
