Lordy there are some cute tri-honey's in the sport now!

So when I was in my heyday('88-'95) and triathlon was my entire life I was really in the pulse of up and coming athletes and ‘whos who’ of the sport. Not quite so much any more, but as I perused the Triathlete Mag at my doc bud’s office yesterday I was astonished at how many stunningly beautiful women are at the top of the game.

Fernanda Keller was always in a close tie for me with Wingnut.

As far as the personality goes I have to say listening to Chrissie Wellington speak and interact that she seems to be a very sharp gal, bubbly but not an overdoes and all around sweet kid…have not heard the other cuties talk so much. Does she have a good man in her life? She is a doll.

Oh to be one of the elite men traveling around with all those sexy lady birds in tow to each stop…when would one train?

I hear they even let these fair ladies vote, drive, and even (gasp!) work. Granted, they do all of them poorly, but times are changing!

Not yet but give me some time. I’m working on it. As soon as the judge removes this pesky restraining order I can resume my wooing.

She just seems like such a likeable young gal and vivacious…much like my lady who is just a laugh a minute to be around.

I would think she would need a body guard to keep the suitors away so she can train!

I doubt any of her suitors could catch her.
You are right though, she really does seem like a great and genuine person.

No pictures? Didn’t happen.

I imagine her life is not unlike that of many pro athletes in that it can get very lonely. I hope that isn’t the case for these gals, but traveling the world has it’s own set of drawbacks in addition to the great experience…it’s gotta be hard to maintain a healthy social life.

I saw Dorothy Hamill at O’Hare Int’l maybe 8-9 years ago and not one single person was talking to her. Perhaps trying to respect her privacy, but I think most people are intimidated by star power. I walked right up to her and said something along the lines of how much I appreciated her talent and enjoyed watching her and most of all what a classy gal she had always been. She asked me to sit down and we chatted for 45 minutes. This is one of the nicest, most gracious women I have ever met. Come to find out she had been through a 2nd divorce…life ain’t always what it seems. And for those of you old enough to remember Dorothy…she is even more beautiful in person…STILL a knockout!

How many people would even recognize her. I wouldn’t. One time I literally bumped into Dan Ackroyd on a street corner and told him that he had a nice dog. Didn’t even realize it was him until somebody told me later. Another time I was in a restaurant sitting next to Formula One champion Alonso (can’t even remember his first name) and didn’t recognize him until the waiter told me. Maybe in L.A. or somewhere people make a point of looking for celebrities, but most people couldn’t care less.

I recall standing next to and chatting with KD Lang at LAX a few years ago at the check-in counter. The economy line up was massive, so I was directed by an agent to go stand in the Business/1st-Class check in line, that left me standing next to KD. We talked music and Canadian politics. Plus we were kinda making fun of the guy right at the counter who was taking forever to check in - you know, one of those travelers!

Yea you could be right there. I mean it would be really easy to miss uber babe Tai Babilonia and a dozen other Ice Capades skaters wearing their team uniforms sitting with Ice Capades bags over their shoulders. Easy to miss;)

If you are not in my age bracket then I can understand not recognizing Dorothy Hamill and Tai Babilonia, but when I was growing up they were THE babes in sport. If you were not of sporting age during the '76 Olympics then these gals probably mean nothing to ya. As for me and every other man with a heart beat at that time…we were GLUED to the TV watching every minute of these little hotties do their thing. And I can’t stand skating either it bores me to no end!

Sounds like I am about your age. I remember them in the day with their skimpy skate costumes, but I’m sure I’d not recognize either thirty years later fully clothed.

You might be older but it’s pretty evident your testosterone levels are still that of a 20 year old. The "little hottie’ thing unfortunately is kinda like a 20 year old too.
