i was washing dirt and stuff out of the cogs and noticed that each individual cog can move a small amount up or down and that they each have a little bit of movement both clockwise and counterclockwise, is this normal? (as the subject states, i have ksyrium ssc sl wheels and i also have 9sp dura ace in case that matters)
Not really - they should be fairly “snug”
You may want to tighten the cassette down a bit, but you will need a Shimano (or Park Tool, etc.) small little adapter to tighten the lockring. You won’t need a chain whip (only needed to loosen the lockring while holding the cassette)
They also make a 1mm spacer that goes between the hub and large cog that will take the play out. Not sure why that happens on some hubs, but I have one on my 9 speed shimano hub when I use a 10 speed cogset. I guess some of the companies machining is a mm different. G
