Looks like Allen Webb will be racing in Tempe this weekend

Spotted at 4 Peaks Racing Splash n Dash last night coming in second in the 750/3mi

Only makes sense that he will do the Lifetime Marquee race in Tempe this weekend.

I think he is doing the Sprint.

You have some competition then with him and Brian…

How does a mile/1500 specialist get outkicked? Ouch.

I hope he saves me some pizza…

If he’s starting his kick from behind the other guy…

(No clue if that’s how it played out, but I’m guessing Mcdowell is a faster swimmer).

Looks like McDowell nipped him in transition. I have a hard time believing that was an all out 5k on Webb’s part.

they were running together with approx. 1/2 mile to go. Don’t know after that.

I’m guessing you do Brian, but I really hope others on this thread realize who Kevin McDowell is…

World Jr. Bronze, yes? Had Hodgkins? Good to see him healthy.

John

He’s probably doing it as an easy way to officially get his pro card, assuming USAT hasn’t already given him one. Will be interesting to see how he does.

From what I was told, yes he’s going for his pro card.

If you are an “elite” in another olympic sport USAT has discretion to give you a pro card without you having to qualify for it.

I’m assuming he is still going for the pro card or else they would have easily have already put him in some of the lower level ITU CC’s where he could have easily scored points in some of the S. American and C. American races that have already been ran this spring.

Amen to that. Glad to see him racing. Wasn’t he at the Elite Tri place in Co. Springs for a while? Is that still a thing now that Lukas is in California?

Or, he simply has chosen to go the slow route and ease into the process. I sure hope it’s that and not USAT denying him a card… not that it would surprise me. :frowning:

From what I’ve been told by coaches in Scottsdale, his training is going well. I’ll assume they’ll take him to Europe this summer after probably getting a few ITU CC’s under his belt.

Yea, Kevin has raced a few times in the last couple years, and usually does fairly well too. He’s just not globetrotting picking up points it seems
