Looking forward to getting the new QR's- I wonder when?

I really would like to try one of those new Calientes. Any thoughts on when we may see the new '06 QR stuff? Have you seen the Tequilo? Super cool.

Big year for QR in '06…

After seeing the 06 Saber that was posted the other week… I’m saving my pennies… quarters… what ever… for one of those!!

But then… it does sound like a good year for the A.B.G.!

I’ve been considering a custom paited lime green Saber. That would be so awesome. The new graphics are very cool.

Hmmm… “lime green” on a Saber… that would be unique for sure…! We have a guy here in town that has an older Blade painted up in the US Navy colors (Navy blue w/ bright yellow “Navy” on the down-tube) which looks pretty cool…

But… call me old fashioned - I’ll take brushed Ti any day…

Tom, I’ve got a question for you about QR but I don’t want to bash the company or any stores so I’m going to PM you.

As a current Navy guy, that sounds cool. Does he race for the Navy team?

I thought about asking about the possibility of maybe thinking about talking to my wife about possibly getting one…I’m wondering why it isn’t here yet.

QR delivery Sucks…Why isn’t it here yet!

Not sure if he does (or used to)… Just remember seeing the bike at a local bike shop, getting some work done to it…

No, I have not seen the new Tequilo. You should post pictures. If you don’t have pictures you should take some. Then you should post said pictures.

I was comparing the geometries of QR’s TiPhoon and the Litespeed Blade, and something seems curious to me. The QR has a slightly slacker seat tube angle AND a shorter top tube given the same “size.” How is that possible? Is it merely a function of wheelbase or head tube angle? Will one handle significantly different than the other?

Good insights. You’re right. They do fit very differently. Two different body types.

Well, I’ll be honest, I’m a bit of an ABG Ti snob and I’m doing the research to make a bike decision next year. Even given the different body types, I still wouldn’t have expected the QR to be both slacker and shorter in the top tube. It seems to me that with both, you’re effectively moving the rider counter-clockwise around the bottom bracket and making it tougher to get appropriately low in front.

Well, here it is.

herbert – very cool. i dig the stealth look. i like black bikes. geometry? price? when is it available? inquiring consumers want to know.

Very nice Herbert! While we have your ear, can you elaborate on differences between Lucero, Caliete and Seduza? Are they from same molds but different grade of cf? Obviously the spec is different but given current love for cf tri bikes it looks like ABG has some winners here.

BTW, proud owner of PicanTi tri bike and Tuscany road bike.

Mike

oh, I like that a lot. very nice.

Geometry just like last years Tequilo. I’ll give you a heads up on price and availability in the morning as I am currently sitting at my home computer and watching James Bond.

@ TriMike: Lucero, Caliente and Seduza all made from the same mold. Carbon finish and graphics are different on the models. 3k carbon weave finish on the Lucero with stealth graphics. 12k carbon unidirectional finish on Caliente and Seduza.

I finally was able to ask our product manager and he gave me the following updates. Kilo and Tequilo will be available in late September, while Seduza and Caliente will be available late in October. Lucero is not changing for 2006 and is available as we speak.
As for Tequilo MSRP, it’ll be 2299.-
Cheers,
Herbert

Hey, stop with the saber raving, please. Because of your little bit on it, it is clear that I wouldn’t fit well on it since I have a totally short torso. Now I’m sad kuz that bike looks sweet. Oh well.
