Looking for Litespeed Saber pics and info

I found a couple of pics using the search, but would still like to see a few more. If anyone saved the pic of Big Zach’s Saber with BR100’s, could you re-post it? (The link is dead.)

Also, can anyone tell me the difference betwee the 2006 and 2007 models? I see that the 2007 has a 78* seat tube angle and internal shift cabling (still exposed rear brake cable). Is the 2006 the same or different?

Thanks.

Steve

Bump for the weekday crowd.

After some more research, it appears that the difference between the 2006 & 2007 Saber models are the following…

  1. 2007 has internal shift cabling, but external rear brake cable. 2006 was all external cabling.
  2. 2007 has a faired seat tube and horizontal dropouts. 2006 had no cutout and vertical dropouts.
  3. 2006 has integrated headset and longer head tube to accomodate it. 2007 has standard headset. Effective head tube lenth is same for both.

Did I miss anything?

I have a 2006 Saber. It has horizontal dropouts.

Thanks, Frank.

I was just looking at a picture of your bike. You seem to be the only guy under 6’4" tall that I’ve seen so far that rides a 59.

I noticed that you don’t have any spacers, a flipped stem and not much post showing. Can you tell me what stem length you use?

Do you have a long torso, legs or anything else that put you on the 59 instead of the 57 that I would have expected someone 6’1 to be on?

Thanks.

Steve

Here is mine. It is a 55cm. Another subtle difference between the 06 and 07 is a shorter seat tube above the top tube.

Thanks. Yours is actually one of the ones that really piqued my interest in the Saber.

Just to be clear, is it the '06 that has less seat tube above the top tube?

Also, how tall are you and what length is the stem on your bike?

Steve

No sorry …if you go on the website you can see the "07 has less seat tube above the top tube vs my '06.

I am 6’ and my stem is 120mm

Thanks, Frank.

Hi Steve,

my stem is 100 mm, the seat post is extended 120 mm.
I have rather short legs and a long torso.

I really don’t understand the trend to ride such tiny bikes on your side of the pond. I see a lot of pictures of triathletes which remind me of children
who have outgrown their bikes they got as a gift when they were 3 years younger.

I wouldn’t want a smaller size - if I’d buy the bike again I wouldn’t hesitate a second and get a size 59 again.

Frank

I really like your bike and the build…except for the Profile bars…but that’s a personal pref for Heds. Nice bike.

I’ll be in town this weekend for the Tour o’ MO and was going to bring my fixed gear to toodle around the tour and the Blade for a ride someplace before the race. Ya wanna hook up for a ride, swap bikes. Its a 58.

I would absolutely love to do that. Unfortunately, I’m doing the Lewis & Clark 1/2-marathon Sunday morning. So, it really depends on when you had in mind. I’ll send you a PM with my e-mail address.
