Hi all. I will be racing IMNZ in 7 weeks and will be traveling by myself. I could book a hotel room, but ideally I would prefer to stay in a house or condo with to other triathletes. I was hoping that someone here may now of a group of people that are going and have rented a house or condo, but have an extra room due to someone canceling ect. I would also be interested in renting a room from some locals in Taupo (homestay like). If you have a room or know of someone that might please reply or send a message to me. Thanks.
even though you’re putting in a request for a fairly private setting, i still want to put forth the visitor’s centre in taupo. they have a line on just about every room in town, including private houses, i believe. they are fabulous. you can garner information only, or that plus a reservation, at no extra cost. they should have a link to it on the imnz website. taupo is fairly small, and they have it covered. as for this specific race, that’s THE town deal that week, so nearly everyone they place is related to the race somehow. meaning…they know where the athletes are staying (everywhere).
i hope you have a wonderful time at imnz. it’s a wonderful race and experience, with terrific organizers who care if you have a good time.
