Looking for Gatorade Endurance Formula?

Good luck. I haven’t been able to find the stuff this year. Nothing. I know others have been searching as well and cannot find it. So, I emailed Gatorade this weekend. Below is my original e-mail and their response. Guess they expect us to order the powder mix online.

Interesting … I didn’t realize Gatorade Endurance was the official sponsor of the Wisconsin MARATHON … Nice …

Dear Sir or Maam: I have been a big fan of the Endurance Formula since it was released and as an Ironman triathlete am thrilled to see it at the races. Howver I have been extremely frustrated with your distribution policy this year.Last year I was able to locate the Endurance Formula at Pick N Save and Walgreens around Franklin Wisconsin (just south of Milwaukee). However this year it is impossible to find. I have been to nearly every store cited on your store locator and NONE of them carry the endurance formula.I have spoken with a number of stores and have been informed that they stopped carrying the Endurance Formula due to your requirement that they carry Rain.I have a very hard time understanding how a product featured in a major race just a few miles from my home (Ironman Wisconsin Madison) cannot be found in this area. You are doing a tremendous disservice to the triathletes who will be forced to race on Gatorade Endurance without being able to train with it. Is there some reason why you choose not to supply this product in this area? Thank you for your time and attention.

Joel:
It’s great to know that you would like to use the Gatorade Endurance Formula while you are training for the Wisconsin marathon.
Generally, stores do not order product directly from our company. They order and receive their products from an individual wholesaler or supplier. Suppliers determine which products they will stock based upon the number of cases they sell to stores each week. If enough cases are not ordered by stores on a weekly basis, the supplier will discontinue stocking the product.
The final decision about which products to stock at an individual store is up to the store manager, provided they are able to obtain it from their supplier. Therefore, if you want to purchase a product that is not available in your grocery store, ask the store manager to check with their supplier as they may be able to order a case for you.
**Gatorade Endurance Formula Instant Mix is also sold in several sporting goods chains, and other specialty athletic stores such as: GART Sports, Sports Authority and Gaylan’s Sports and Outdoor Adventure. **
In addition, Endurance Hydration Formula is also available at our own on-line store. Please visit our on-line store at www.gatorade.com; roll your cursor on “Gatorade Sites” at the bottom of the homepage, and click on “Gatorade Store”, then select “Products” or call 630-595-8919 for current pricing and shipping information.
Joel , we hope this information is helpful and you have a great race.

I just ordered some from PerformanceBike.com
.

I just googled “gatorade endurance formula” and several sites that sell it came up. Is your google not working?

Yeah, I just ordered some from trisports. I was hoping to find the ready-made. Cannot ever seem to get the taste/consistency right.

Looking for the ready-made stuff. I know there are a number of places to order the mix online.

Frankly, I never understood why they started selling it in supermarkets to begin with. It’s not a good business model. The Endurance Formula is a niche product for a very small market. The average Joe/Joan who does their grocery shopping is not going to buy it. If I were a store manager, I sure wouldn’t sacrifice potentially profitable shelf space to stock it.

Even Ebay doesn’t have the ready made for sale and only one listing for the powder.

I dunno. The 2 store managers I spoke with said it actually sold quite well. They carried it in relatively limited supply, but, always sold whatever they had. Both of them told me the eliminated it when Gatorade required them to carry Rain and A.M. formula. As a result, they lost shelf space. I was told the Rain is doing well (at least in these stores), but the A.M. is not (again, in these stores only, not sure how it is doing nation wide).

My local store discounted the AM to get ride of it and is stocking Accelerade now. As far as normal people buying it Gatorade seems to do well inmy area but mostly the stock flavors and formula.

I guess it is different from market to market. here in Chicago it is everywhere. even at some locations served cold. In White Hen, I also saw the bike bottles they hand out at the races. I guess I am lucky to be in their hometown
It’s 1.99 regular priced but lots of times goes on sale at Jewel or Walgreens due to general public prefer normal gatorade. most of the times its buy one get one free or a dollar per bottle.

Tell them to ship some a little farther north…

Last year it was all over the place. And, Gatorade sent those packets with coupons for something like 20 free bottles of the stuff to everyone signed up for Ironman. This year - nothing. Go figure.

Hmm, I haven’t tried Walgreens yet. I’ll take a look the next time I’m near one. Thanks.

Peapod online grocery has the ready to drink ones.

My bad. I’m not a fan of endurance formula. It seems more sweet and “sickly” than the regular stuff. I’m forcing myself to drink it on long rides and runs though because that’s what IMNA, whoops, NAS, serves.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. I want to train as much as possible with it so my stomach is ready for it at IMMoo. I just ordered the powder from trisports, so, at least I will have that.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s kind of silly that they have all these different Gatorade products that are exctly the same except for flavor, but all with different names? (with the exception of Endurance, which has a different formulation)

I was just at the local Jewel and lo and behold, they did have bottles of GE on the shelf (on sale yet!), as well as Rain, AM, X-Factor, etc. I looked at the nutritional info, and they’re all exactly the same. So why confuse people? Will calling something Gatorade AM really send a subliminal message to drink it in the morning? I’m thinking not.

I completely agree, which is why I was ticked to hear Endurance was replaced (on the shelves in the local stores) with Rain and AM.
