Looking for Bay Area runners

Hello, all!

I’m captaining one of two teams of runners looking to participate in this year’s running of The Relay (http://www.therelay.com), and we’re currently two runners short with the registration deadline looming.

The race is a 199-mile relay, starting on October 15th in Calistoga and finishing the following day at the wharf in Santa Cruz. Each runner runs three legs, between 3 and 9 miles in length and of varying difficulty. The Forward Motion Race Club is subsidizing our entries, so the cost to the runners is $40 each (half off the entry fee).

Are there any Bay Area runners, male or female, who would be interested in participating? We are NOT looking to be competitive, so don’t hesitate to respond if you’re interested but can’t run a sub 3-hour marathon (or even a sub 4-hour marathon, for that matter). We’re basically treating it as one long, rolling party. If interested, send me a PM or post a response here.

Doh! I just committed to running in my company’s relay team for this event, or I’d join you. This will be my first time doing this event, but I’ve heard it’s a blast. Maybe I’ll see you at the finish line!

I am interested and may be able to do it. I am traveling right now. I will confirm one way or the other by tomorrow evening, once I am back home.
