Any Frank Dobbs race http://www.lakegenevasports.com/ is likely to have a short swim.

I did Delavan Lake Tri a few years back and the olympic swim was under 1000m and the run was around 4 miles.

For a short swim, there is no better race than the Green Bay Triathlon (http://www.midwestsportsevents.com/greenbaytri.html). I did the race a couple of years ago, tons of support - very fun race. If you are worried about the swim - the lake is man made and very calm in the early morning hours. Check it out!!!

Having a shorter than advertised course isn’t something to brag about. There is a reason he isn’t known for quality.

To the OP–I have done both Elkhart Lake and Lake Mills multiple times and like them both.

I should have put the comments in pink.

I would never encourage anyone to do a Frank Dobbs race. I do however want to do his eurocross run around the perimeter of geneva lake.

The Green Bay Triathlon is the perfect race if you are looking for a short swim. The sprint distance is 400 yards and the Olympic is 800. The swim is in the man-made Ashwaubomay Lake. The water is warm & shallow.

After the race you even get delicious pancakes to reward your efforts! It is one of my favorites.

as you are a first time poster, responding to the person who started the thread, who is also a first time poster, i must assume you do not know the rules here. you are not allowed to have a conversation with yourself. if you continue to do so, we will send a paddy wagon and have you taken away for a 72-hour observation

seriously you get one user account, so, choose which one you want, and let me know, so that i can disable the other. if you want to advertise your race that badly, then, you know, advertise. (we do serve regional ads that will only show in your event’s area.) otherwise, put your race on our calendar, and that’s the free advertising you get from slowtwitch!

otherwise, welcome to the forum, and i hope we can help you fill up your race!

another vote for Lake Mills.
swim is flat and clean
bike has 2 hills
the run is flatter than the swim.

Well organized event. I have done it many times with good experiences every time.
