Hi
I live in San Jose California. I purchased a Scott Plasma , about 5 -8 years old. Used it this year , my first year of doing Triathlons. Just finished my first 70.3 and loving the sport.
The Bike saddle post was cut down 2" too low so i cant get full leg extension when riding, ( ive been fitted twice) hence hamstrings hurt like hell and i’m missing valuable power on the ride.
I cant find an insertion piece to use to raise the saddle.
So 2 options
Buy a nice new used bike or find someone who knows where i can find an extension to the saddle post.
How about just cutting and dropping a piece of wood into the frame so that the cut post bottoms out on the wood? Would you still have enough seatpost in the frame to ride safely? If it’s a standard seat post, you can pick those up anywhere. Also, any Scott dealer can likely get you a new post that would fit. Good luck.
Great idea, unfortunately its a TT bike and the seat post and frame are all one thing, cut too low.
I spoke to a few Scott dealers and they only make extensions / spacers of about 1/4" to 1/2" , i need almost 2 "
I have heard of people being able to fully cut off the mast (seat post) and attach a clamp to the frame so you can run a standard post. I’m sure the cost would be pretty high for that though.
Shoot an email over to Brady at Broken Carbon. He might take a minute to get back to you depending on who/where/what he working on, but he might know.
