Check out the Grand columbian. 1/2 and Full distances and reports from last year were quite good (except for the high winds). There is a link on gordo’s site for full info.

Where is the Grand Columbian at?

Where are you located Sean G? This will be a major factor in your decision.
The Great Floridian is great. Pun intended. Nice rolling hills, great support, Central Florida is a great area. I have done it 4 times and loved it every time.

There is a full and half in Oklahoma late September:
www.redmantriathlon.com.
The Esprit is Sept. 17
Thanks
Thanks for the info. I will take a look
Grand Columbian is at/near/around the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington.
Other options would be Vineman (www.vineman.com) on August 13 or 14, north of San Francisco near Napa Valley, and The Canadian (www.somersault.ca) on September 3 in Ottawa, Ontario. The Canadian is on closed roads on a beautiful course and the price is right, but the bike will involve 12 loops, the run 4 loops. It will be a good event, though, building on a very successful 4-year-old 1/2iron.
You say August or September; does October 1 count? If so, check out Chesapeakeman (www.tricolumbia.org) in Cambridge, MD. This takes place in the Blackwater area of the Eastern Shore, the same general stomping grounds as for Eagleman. It’s a beautiful area, totally flat — but potentially highly windy. This’ll be its 2nd year.
Thanks I will take a. I bet it is a flat course.
Thanks
I actually live 90 min. from the Chesapeake Man. I will be working the event. Plus Cyclocross season is about to heat up here in the East
Embruman if you fancy a few hills.
Where is the Embruman?
Which direction are you from Cambridge? I can make it from just east of Ottawa to Eagleman in about 10 hours - very doable! If you don’t mind that type of drive, look into The Canadian.
I am Northwest. Above Baltimore.
I bet it is a flat course.
Yes, but the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain,
And the wavin’ wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the raaaaaaaain.
There’s a new one in Las Vegas called Silverman. Here’s the website:
In France. it’s crazy hard. i think the bike has 5000m of climbing (it goes over the col de Izoard - or at least used to). it’s in August.

you could also try the new Silverman in Vegas. it also looks really hard (10,000 feet of climbing). It’s in November
Its got to be the vineman www.vineman.com its in santa rosa which is about 1 hour north of san fransisco and you ride through all the vineyards in beautiful northern cal. I will be there and it loos to be a great race
