Look 496 Tri Seat Post Issues

Had a question for the ST folks out there.

My Training Partner got a Look 496 and when he was being fit the seat post/mast collar detached so that it flexed back and forth about a 1/4". You could actually see into the frame. So they got a new one, even though it had to be shipped from Europe because they are hard to come by now a days. He’s had it for about a month and it just happenned again!! You pay that kind of cash for a bike you think it would stay in one piece.

Is there a design flaw here?

I’ve had mine for close to 5 months and 2500 miles I haven’t had any problems at all. From what I’ve seen from friends is that their customer service is excellent.

I have had one since Feb '07 and ride it quite a bit. No issues thus far.
