Anyone going to Lorient, France for the World Championships?
Qualified=yes
Going=no
.
My wife will be competing. We are heading over on July 4th. At the moment we are trying to iron out the details of traveling with the bike as well where to stay for couple of days in Paris before heading on to Lorient.
Are you a knowledgeable traveler? We are babes in regards to France. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hugh

We live in France. Are you traveling with a group or alone? You’re arriving early so are you planning on traveling? and if so, where?-you can PM me if you like.
Are you traveling in a group with the Kiwis?
I am flying over with the team, but en route to Lorient from Paris will be travelling with parents (the buses organised for the team were gonna cost something like 210 euros!!) but am staying in hotel leopol with the kiwis. After, I will be travelling around France with my parents and will be watching tour de france stages in pyrenees. So won’t be going back with nz team. Will also spend one day in London catching up with some friends.
What about yourself? I assume you’re american???
Well, not exactly. I come from the States but I live and race here in France. We’re the ones in the skimpy blue suits.
The TdeF will pass my house will we are racing in Lorient so I will miss all the hoopla.
Do you have a link to the team roster for NZ? I know many of you and would like to see who is coming.
Again, if you need anything, please let me know.
I was in Canberra. Stayed in AUS for 6 months. Best time of my life.
To “sciguy” and anyone else traveling here. Food can be expensive so I reccommend ordering the menus-these are prix fixe and very reasonable. Also, ALL TIPS AND GRATUITIES ARE INCLUDED IN THE BILL-no exceptions! Bon appetit!
A bunch of us are coming from Slovenia by autocamp. See you there!
Okay, I’ll figure a way to get us together-3 weeks-any tapers yet?
Tapers?
Nope! Finally started my training after exams finished on monday ![]()
yeh- a little base building, why not?

Where in France are you frenchfried?
I’ve considered doing some riding on some of the tdf courses etc but my gut feeling is that I won’t want to touch my bike after my race (haven’t had a break longer than 1.5 weeks since September)
I live in the alps. in Annecy. We have Le Forclaz, Grand Bournard, and Colombier. When you see them you can not resisit your bike! The TdF is here while we are in Lorient. tant pis!
Yes, doing it. Could you be kind enough to update us on the swim course: is it on the same lake as the Gran Prix? Also, do you think it will be wetsuit legal?
Thanks!
