Through my training and racing for my first Ironman at Lake Placid this year, I’ve joined Coach Richard Pady’s Race4Kids team to raise funds for this charity. Coach Pady is organizing a day of long course training on June 23rd in the Caledon area just outside of Toronto. It’s open to athletes of all levels, although most people will be training for either Ironman or Half Ironman.
8:00 am - 2:00 pm: 90 km out and back bike course, finish as much as you can in 6 hours; support vehicles will be on course; the bike course has been designed with Lake Placid in mind
2:00 pm: Transition to 7 km run course and run as much (or as little) as you want; aid stations at 3.5 and 7 km
3:30 pm: socialize with fellow athletes and dip in the pool
5:00 pm: BBQ - bring what you want to BBQ and drink and the rest will be provided
Cost is $25 for HR/Race4Kids athletes and $40 for everyone else - proceeds from this go directly to the Race4Kids charity. PM me if you’re interested and I’ll send you the rest of the details.
Sorry, I meant Guelph Lake 1 and it looks like this would be the day before Guelph Lake. That’s too bad as a TONNE of people will be at Guelph Lake that would have liked to have done to this as well. Myself included.
Same here…doing the City Chase (now the Mitsubishi City Chase). Need a change of pace for one weekend after 2 straight weekends of tri racing (Lakeside and Binbrook). Plus, i’ve heard great things about City Chase. Otherwise, I think I would have been all over this training day.
Great day of training with the proceeds going to a great cause.
Alas, I will be back in Lake Placid again that weekend, this time in support of Nigel Gray’s NRG Ironman Lake Placid Training camp. Time to flog myself once again on the IMLP bike course.
