I got to check out the London Tri yesterday; did not get to compete as my bikes and furniture have all been seized for inspection by the super efficient UK customs folks. Needless to say, I saw the results of the elite/sub 230 and men AG today, and I cannot believe how many people went under 2 hours, with some bike splits in the 40 minute range, and countless people running 34 or less 10ks. This had to be a seriously mis-measured course or it had a couple of hundred beyond world class athletes in it. In fact the winner won in 1:41:xx or there abouts, which is crazy for an Oly. Anyone there or know of the actuals distances?
The winner was Tim Don though, who did 30:30 for the run, which he’s done before.
Elite bike splits are 50 mins… are you sure you’re not just looking at the first lap?
I did this (it was my first ever Tri)
We were told the bike leg was 38km and the run was 9.8km
But i was quicker than I thought so maybe the distances were less again?
