Now that Ford is a big sponsor of IMNA races, can we expect that huge oval on the finisher’s shirts? I noticed on the Athlete’s Guide for IMCDA that the graphic of the Coeur D Alene Ironman has the Ford oval above it. Please tell me this won’t be on the front of the shirt.
How has IMNA handled this in the past? Was Subaru all over the other shirts? My IMFL shirt didn’t have one but I don’t remember a big sponsor either.
While I appreciate Ford’s sponsorship, I don’t want to advertise for them.
Ford has been title sponsor of NYC tri for several years, and yes the logo was on the shirts, and on the swim caps. I can’t imagine it won’t be on the ironman gear too. Though I don’t know if Ironman finisher shirts are logo free. Are there sacred standards for things like that?
From what I remember, my IM Moo shirt has no logos. But then again, I’ve only worn it twice or so and it’s at the bottom of some drawer somewhere.
The Ford logo was all over today at the Disney HIM, but since we didn’t get a shirt for showing up then I can’t say so far. I’ll let ya know what the shirts look like tomorrow when I finish under 4 hours. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH. Or maybe a bit over 5.
