This week would suck (due to rain) but if it’s at all dry, Del Valle Regional Park is GREAT. Go up Mines Rd. from North Livermore Rd. At the split in the road, stay right onto Del Valle Rd. At the guard shack go right and drive to the end of the raod. Park near the bait shop at the boat dock. Don’t leave anything valuable in sight, there have been some break ins in that lot recently. The East Shore Trail (From boat launch area) is flat for the first 1.5 miles to the Venados group camp, then catch the single track on your right just after the last bathroom building, through a small gate. It will go about a half mile to another fire road and through another gate. From there make every left turn you can and you will find about 5.4 miles of single track along the shoreline of the lake all the way to the top of the Dam to Arroyo Rd. Like I said, in the rain it will be mucky.

If you extend a little from Livermore (about 10 - 20 minute drive) you have the Ironhorse bike trail starting near Dublin BART station. That is a flat 25 mile bike path.
You have several parks and trail systems in the hills near Livermore: Pleasanton Ridge, Las Trampas, Mt Diablo. I believe you can get to Los Vaqueros Reservoir (which is to the South of Mt. Diablo) from Vasco Rd at the East end of Livermore. From the reservoir there are miles of trails that can reach to Mt Diablo. Most of these places are pretty muddy right now though.
Any ST’ers in that area? I will be going out to Livermore for a few days next week (Wednesday and Thursday) and was wondering if there were any good places to swim? If my foot is up to it, I will check out some of the parks to run.
Also, are there any good local eateries to hit up? I am not much for the touristy places.
Thanks.

Check out the Big Blue Adventures Xterra page for Del Valle:

I hear it’s a great place for swimming and trail running.
