Live from the E-Bay On-Line Lounge: Interbike 2004

Random notes on Interike 2004:

Argon 18 has introduced the most beuatiful collection of fit tools I have ever seen. They are durable, heavy, well designed and very nice. The bikes are nice too.

What is it about Canadians and the cycling industry the past five years?

The Campagnolo compact cranks RULE! Absolutely beautiful. The proprietary front derailleur too. They are saying November…

The Guru Crono is a show stopper. Beautiful.

New Cervelo colors are fantastic.

The $2000 Felt all-carbon Dura-Ace road bike is here. Super SUPER limited quantities fo '05. Buy now and wait. And wait. And wait… But $2000 for a Dura-Aca all hand made carbon bike?

Huge!

Easton Wheels- Very nice. Not ready for prime time yet- the graphics looked like they did them last night.

Too many people are trying to sell wetsuits.

Lots of very nice new pedals. Look Keo- cool. The new Time pedal, even nicer.

Forget black carbon. The new carbon fiber is WHITE. Selcof shows white carbon stems, bars and posts. Fun.

Assos clothing for winter. Expensive, but awesome.

chatted with Chris Charmichael, Phil Ligget and lots of other other interesting characters.

If I eat one more energy bar sample I’m gonna puke. Same with energy drinks.

That’s it for now!

How are the showgirls?

speaking of white carbon (this years black…lol) does anyone know if the white carbon TT bars the Postie boys were sporting in the Tour will ever become available? Who made them?
And as Canadians…if we have to do something we really have to do it right…or not at all…especially since Cervelo set the bar so high

Tom-

can you post any good close-up pictures of this white carbon material? I heard a lot about it last year and, from the little I did see, have some questions about what is used to produce the look of it.

thanks,

J

Made by Bontrager. Don’t know current status, but see:

“New Cervelo colors are fantastic.”

What are the colors? Any info on the P2k?

Dave

I vote that we all pitch in to buy Tom a stinkin digital camera with wireless Internet uploading technology so that he can carry with him at all times.

First the 2.5, now this - so much taunting and not a single picture!!!

You ain’t kidding. If this isn’t a job for TSR, nothing is.

He’s probably not even there.

Sweet.

Hey Tom, if you happen to be chatting with the blonde clothes/bike model at the Mavic-Adidas booth, remind her that little Liza’s dad is hoping for some Interbike shwag in his Christmas stocking.

On that note I saw one set of white Postie bars at IM MOO this year, no idea where he got it from.

Trek.

Although I haven’t seen the bars you refer to, my guess is they belong to one Marc Andrews. Very good age group triathlete and also an engineer with Trek.

I don’t believe the bars have hit the marketplace yet…

FWIW

on velonews.com they have photos of the p3 carbon
.
