Litespeed Teramo vs. Siena -- PLEASE HELP!

I’m begging for your help!!!

So I’m ready to buy a new bike and realized I could afford titanium by getting a good deal on inventory closeouts. Right now I’ve found seemingly great deals on both the Teramo (2006) and Siena (2007), which are both in my size. First, could anyone detail what the difference is? From what I can tell they have very similar geometry, the Termao just uses more traditionally shaped tubes while the Siena has the newer shaped tubes. Any other differences out there? The original retail price on the frames was $1,000 different – to put it bluntly, does this mean the Siena is $1,000 better?

Additionally, what are your thoughts on the following builds (the Siena is selling for $300 more than the Teramo):
Siena:

  • All Ultegra w/ FSA carbon crank and carbon stem
  • Cosmic Elite Wheels

Teramo:

  • Dura-Ace shifters and real derailleur
  • Ultegra front derailleur
  • Gossamer aluminum crank
  • Ksyrium ES wheels

So I’m completely stressed out here trying to decide what to do. I really think I’d be thrilled with either bike, and the $300 difference, when spending this much, is relatively minimal (so the ‘just get the cheaper option’ isn’t really applying). What are your thoughts? I’m liking the frame on the Siena but the wheels and Dura-Ace on the Ksyrium…why can’t these things be easy???

Buy the Siena. It’s a better frame. It’s very easy to upgrade components over time. The frame you could have for a lifetime with Litespeed’s quality. The Siena is a great bike. You won’t be disappointed. It’s got two ITU world cup wins so far this season.

Hey,

Buy the Siena. I had the same problem trying to decide which one to buy. I rode both (they had pretty much the same components -Ultegra) and the Vortex, and I found the Siena ride a lot better, stiffer and yet comfortable. The Vortex was great too, but way more expensive.

Get the Siena and you will be happy.

Good luck!!

Sienna. Not only can you upgrade components over time, with the Sienna, you might upgrade them several times before you’re done with the frame.
