Yes, I have one of those… and off the shelf Bontager mount. Heavy as hell…if that matters to you. But you can mount 1 or 2 bottles and adjust the angle. I throw mine on for long rides… but i still launch bottles too often to risk racing with it.
Did they modify that cage to have it rotated like that? Why would you do that? I have been looking at that and trying to figure it out.

Reaches for the bottle with her left hand, so the angle helps to get the bottle out easier.
not modified…the “spine” of that cage (which includes the bottle retention features) can be flipped 180deg…effectively swapping the mounts left to right or vice versa…

Agreed. I’ll take the aero penalty and put a cage on the downtube before I risk losing a bottle there. Most seem to accept that risk though.
I have a sitero with cheap Blackburn cage that looks very similar to the specialized cage. That with a specialized bottle I have never ejected. There was one railroad crossing in Chattanooga that was a bottle grave yard and mine stayed in place.

I know nothing about the mount (I use the Minoura) but that cage is the Bontrager tri cage which I’ve used for thousands of miles without launching a bottle. I will say that with the Minoura the cages are more upright but in any case I’ve hit tracks so hard they’ve flatted my tires and still no launched bottle. Also, I don’t race with any rear cages, just a Profile Design BTA and a downtube, but the Minoura with two Bontrager tri cages is nice for long training rides when you don’t want to make multiple stops.
