Putting 500 women in 70.3’s,who have never raced a 70.3 or Ironman before would gave fitted exactly with what they say they are trying to do.Six months free coaching over the northern winter and then if they are hooked and want to continue, all good.
Again, the cynic in me wants to know, how many women, who already have a coach are going to apply for a free year of coaching now that the 2025 season is over. Maybe there is a clause in the application I dont know.
It was more of a registry with More Info Coming Next Month. My wife filled out the form, but that is all you can do at this point. She has not committed to anything.
Do we think Elizabeth will be signing up? It was good to follow her story and success, in the welcome breaks in live race coverage.
In other “women’s tri initiative” news, tomorrow:
"In an unprecedented achievement for women’s sports worldwide, Dubai will host the ‘Women’s Triathlon World Cup - Dubai 2025,’ the first event of its kind in the world that is dedicated entirely to women.
". . . the [sprint] event will take place on Dubai Islands under the auspices of governing body ‘World Triathlon’, as part of its official annual agenda, . . . . "

What’s your wife thinking about the rollout of this?
I signed up, too.
Need to find out more about their app/training platform, as I’m not a techie girl and parts of the app are not intuitive, in my opinion. Also, I’m not a HR or watts girlie, either. I suspect they are going to want that sort of data.
Also, I’m coming off of about a 12 year break, and a significant ortho surgery last year, so basically starting from scratch, and the first week of workouts is a bit over my head.
Quite a few active triathletes signed up, so it’s not all newbies or people making a comeback, which is what I thought the target market was.
I’m a little skeptical, but can report back after a couple of weeks.
Hi, clm! Are you doing it? The workouts are on thr Tridot platform (app/website). There was a link to join (free) in an email.
The call with Siri was great– love to hear from the pros from “our day.” But it was mostly rah-rah, and not about how the program is designed. I just guess I thought there would be more intro to that and how to use their product first.
I agree there is interest. I just thought it would be more new people or people trying to return to the sport– quite a few on FB group seem to be in the midst of their tri journey and just jumped on the free program. That may just be my perception, though.
