Saw this recently on the net. And, while this is a commercial, if you can discount the 1% of it that has the sponsor plug, this video about girls in sport is kinda powerful. The world is changing, and we thank our lucky stars for that.

As the father of 3 girls, I was very impressed with the video. I have worked with all my girls on the proper way to throw a softball (Power14 has an exceptional arm, but stopped playing after getting beaned a few too many times at bat) and I am pretty sure I have said “don’t throw it like a girl” at some point (although it has been years since I would have said it).
Was playing catch with them the other day and helping P16 with proper mechanics and I was simply saying “don’t throw from the elbow”. (This was before I ever saw this video).
I’m having trouble with the link. Who is the sponsor?
Always (feminine “product” maker)…
If someone ever says that someone runs like a girl, I just point out that Rinny out ran almost everyone at Kona last year and we would all be so lucky to run like her.
I singed up for a small local 1/2 marathon at the last minute back in May and managed to win it. Imagine my surprise when after the last turnaround, 2nd place was a girl. Next male was several minutes back.
There’s a couple that our family is friends with. They both do triathlons. He runs faster, but she’s a much better runner with smooth natural stride. I remind her all the time that she should train more and kick his butt on the run.
Awesome commercial. Posted it on my FB yesterday.
We had our ladies ride last night geared towards newer women riders. One “late onset cyclist” came and apologized for bringing her husband (which was fine) and for not being fast (kept telling her not a problem - this was a social ride). She said she wants to get where she can ride to keep up with him. I told her to set her sights on getting to where she can drop him. He agreed that was a better goal.
