Hahaha, he said at the awards that he had to make up for the hy-vee race with his wife winning so that was his main motivation.
It was a great day… windy as hell though.

He won the 20-24 age group race!!
Talked to him after the race…they are gonna have quite the tax bill this year. 
What was the time difference at the start for the women and what were the placings in the equalizer?
No equalizer this year… One thing that is super impressive about Vanessa’s win in the women’s race is that she actually got a penalty on the bike for stagger violation. She had to stop for 1 minute, and then caught back up, was 3rd into transition, and then still had a super run to take the win.
How much did the winners get?
$250,000 total purse with the winners getting $60,000. Prize money went 10 deep in each gender. This was also the championship race for last year’s Lifetime Fitness Series, so Bennett got an extra $60,000 for winning that.
I wish they did it more like Boulder Peak where the pro’s race last so you can actually see them. All i got to see was them get on their bikes before i had to start. Then when i was running through T1`i heard they were coming back in on the bike. And didn’t get to hear anything after that because i was on the bike course. Oh well itd just be nice to race then watch the pros go.
