Just kidding, just a topic I’m passionate about. Localities along with police wiggling through ambiguity of the law to better themselves at the expense of good citizens. Total corruption. A multi-billion dollar industry. Towns in Texas seemed to be the worst, so bad the law had to pass a law to limit this abuse. DC and Michigan have followed suit. Proof that if left to their devices police will not act in your best interest, but theirs. From your video “we spend this on nice to have items… items that couldn’t be budgeted… like pennies from heaven.” Fuck those guys and fuck anybody who defends their actions. Add this to the list of items that seem to be all too common that undermine trust in law enforcement.

This has been going on for years in one form or another. I’ve told the story here before about my uncle that was on the CPD. Officers would sit at the border with Indiana and seize fireworks as they came across the border. On the fourth of July the cops would take them home.
Yeah, go figure.

Fireworks are illegal in IL but legal in WI and IN. Every year there is this mass migration to the bordering states to get some fireworks and every year some percentage of them get confiscated…and taken home by cops.
