Levi's new aero position (pic) and new bike?

check this out from cyclingnews.com…and is that a new carbon specialized too? pretty aggressive position!

It looks exactly like its a Willier, which is the bike that Gerolsteiner rode the last few seasons. Its also the TT bike that Ullrich rode with Bianchi and last year at T-Mobile, both painted over with Bianchi and Giant respectively. Seems the boys at G still prefer the Willier to their new sponsors.

Looks like a Walser to me.

Levi lives in Santa Rosa during off season. One time we ran into him when he stopped to see if we were ok during a mechanical stop. He was riding a cross bike and his posse still couldn’t keep up with him. Super nice guy.

I would think those aerobars sticking 6 inches in front of his hands would affect his resistance. Maybe they break things up and actually lower things a bit.

Otherwise looks like a great position. Hope it is a powerful one for him also.

I concur… http://www.walser-cycles.ch/indexx.htm

Yes it’s a Walser … got to see it live and in person 2 weeks ago as Levi was “tweaking” it here in the local shop (NorCal Bike Sport)… he was nice enough to chat about it. Very light, (for TT) very stealth and he says VERY stiff … “stiffest bike i have ever ridden”! He also said he will be riding with a Camelback on longer TT’s as the bike has no “braze ons”. Shimano carbon wheel in the front … Ambrosia disk in th rear w/ Gerolsteainer logo on it. He also had a Walser 1 piece (?) bar w/ straight aero extensions on the front last week when i saw it … just like Ullrich and Lothar Leder

Genuine, nice guy willing to just have a talk about his bike! Cool …

Interesting base bar.

Was he as small in person as he looks on TV? Just curious, he seems tiny. Wonder how much power he can put out? Obviously a lot since he’s a professional cyclist.

yup, very tiny … he can’t weigh more than 135’ish? … i’m 5’9" - 155lbs and i felt tall and overweight

Interesting base bar

Really, no bends, no brake levers, no cables. What’s the sense of leaving them off. Won’t it change the results?

they were using a variety of “front ends” / bars to test different positions and see what aero/power results were generated … they weren’t testing equipment, rather the body & it’s response … what he ended up with was Walsers bars & straight extensions
