The test results are in! Zero testosterone. No sign of any red-blooded behaviour. He’s clean. Damn boring though…I think I’d rather watch Vino, dope or no dope…
Yes he is clean, it is evident by all the attacking he has been doing, way too scared to get his nose dity,LMAO!
tfun~
why would LA hire someone like this??? such a whimp.

Disco hiring practices. Let’s see, white jersey winners, team winners, at least 1 and maybe 2 guys on the podium? Yea, they need your help.
The basso signing didn’t work out too well but it showed what they really think of levi’s grand tour chances…
Yeah, what a wimp, riding in 4th place in the Tour de France, stupid signing for Discovery!
What a ridiculous statement. I don’t care if you complain he sucks wheels the whole time. You and 99.9% of the rest of the world could draft a Peterbuilt and not be within a day of him!
You remind me of Yankees fans complaining about A-Rod. What a loser, he only won the MVP 2 years ago and is leading the majors in home runs and RBIs this year, but they didn’t win the world series, boy A-Rod sucks!

I disagree. It’s like the picked up Steve Nash but then Kobe Bryant became available too. Steve Nash may lead you to a championship, there is a better chance Kobe will. If you’ve got the money, pick him up, sort the rest out later.
Boring maybe, but his ability to pace the leaders for three weeks will still lead to a third place finish in Paris. Give it up to him that he hasn’t had a bad stage yet, is always in contention, and races his own race. LA didn’t count on Levi to be exciting, that’s why they hired Contador. The thing I really do like about Levi is that he sticks to his gameplan. I do agree with you though that seeing him actually get out of the saddle every once in awhile would make for better tv.
Levi wasn’t escatly oerjoyed when they signed Basso, even he knows he’s not amongst the very best. Teams with mutilple leaders tend to fare poorly in grand tours whereas putting all your eggs in one basket is riskier but more likely to bring success as mr bruneel knows better than anyone.
Even without Basso and after being given the leader’s role Levi has managed to relegate himself to #2 disco rider. I think he’s attacked once so far and it was another pathetic american “surge”…
clean for now.
This thread is as funny as the Vino threads from the last couple of days.
I had some great fun reading those.
I will have fun reading this thread in the not too distant future…
psssttt…I’ll let you in on a secret…I’m not really saying that Levi is clean or otherwise…I’m saying he’s boorrrriiiiinnnnnngggggggg…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
.
I let you in on a secret too:
There are actually plans for a race series all fans bored by cycling as it is right now, will be tremendously excited about:
And you are the perfect audience for a soon up and coming “show-based” cycling circus.
Some snippets:
All supplements will be allowed (no testing).
Everything goes (personal fouls, manipulation, etc.).
The course will not be disclosed to the riders in advance (there will be sweet jumps, blind corners, hurdles, barricades, spectators throwing eggs…).
Just think professional wrestling on two wheels!
How would that be for “Exciting”?
Sweet…not that different from how the tour used to be…ah, the good old days ![]()
.
Probably just a tempo rider and not the saviour that he was billed. I am very disappointed also. Contadour on the other hand, damn fine show. Next year will be interesting. Hell, I hope he says the hell with tradition and attacks in paris. What a show that would be. Now that is balls for ya.
I know you were being somewhat facetious with the thread title, but gee - didn’t Levi get stripped of the US Pro Crit title a few years back for a failed dope test?
.
Well, I don’t think the time trial went particularly well for him.
But in general I agree. I don’t understand the people who come here and rip him to shreds. He’s just a guy. He’s a pretty good gc rider, top ten or so, not usually top three or so. We knew that coming in, if things fell exactly the right way he had a chance to win it all, but it all had to fall correctly. I suppose he still could if say rasmussen and contador take each other down in a wreck or something.
He doesn’t have the acceleration to ride away form guys on the hills, that’s that, he’s always been that way. I think it’s cool that we have an american with a good chance to get on the podium.
did he? I genuinely don’t remember that, google here I come ![]()
Levi may not be exciting but i think he is a good guy. He lives here in Sonoma County (during off season) and is pretty active in local community. He does a fair number of charity events, and with his wife Odessa is active in animal rescue and animal rights causes. Every time I have ridden by him (well him riding by me if not going opposite direction), he says hi or waves. Half the rodies around here blow you off. If you are fast enough he may even let you ride with him for a bit…just don’t dare take the front. I am told he always takes the front but probably because of safety reasons…although ironically you never see him riding with a helmet on.
One time a buddy of mine had a mechanical on a remote road and he stopped to see if he needed help. My buddy had no idea who he was and was asking him what the hell Gerolsteiner was. He just said a water company and didn’t mention he was a pro bike racer. I guess his low key nature shows up in his racing style but he is racing his race. It would be great to see him on the podium.
Can’t find it…got a link?
I’m sure he’s a nice guy and all but it’s just not at all exciting to watch. Of all the supposed contenders, he’s done the least, even Evans has attacked and responded to attacks with a little more urgency. He hasn’t even had the good grace to implode and go backwards so that we can watch some nice suffering on tv ![]()
He may be doing his own race but he’s not really “racing” as such. It might be good enough for a top 10 or even a podium in a grand tour when everyone else has issues (like the way the tour this year is going) but there’s no chance of seizing a result, no question of making the other riders scared of you…
One more thing, the bald head doesn’t work, I think he should wear a toupee when racing. A nice big Donald Trump style thing that looks like it was made from roadkill. He could have a blonde one to match the yeloow jersey if he ever did manage to get into the lead.
