What should I look at? Remember that I am small 5’4 and need a 50 or probably a 48… I just want ideas here…
what about the Felt line? alot of bike for the price…and hot paint too. Campus has them in stock and you’d be able to test ride.
Here’s your solution:
-
pick up the phone and call Slowman
-
explain to him why he should meet you in So.Cal (utilize any talents for convincing here)
-
go with him to visit Ves and have a bike made FOR you based on your positioning, etc.
It’s pretty simple. And only might take a weekend of your time. (and I’d bet even after telling Slowman you’d buy him drinks, after the first one or two, he’d probably be buying them for YOU)
Complete package or just frame?
If your going for just frame, I’d go custom. I’ve had my eye on one of these since they came out…maybe next year. The small might fit your perfect, depending on your fit, and titanium to boot, droooooooooool:

this bike is so hot! a steal for around 2,300 or 2,400 www.campuscyclery.com
LOL Like I would have the guts to do that
.
bought and ride the shit out of this bike. It makes me look way better then I am. Love it and recommend it to anyone…if it fits you of course!

Get a Guru.
I recommend Ves too. If you don’t want to get Slowman involved, you can fill in the fit chart on Ves’s website.
That’s a game I play at least once a month, when the magazines come in. In my head I’ve bought a Trek TT, a Softride Rockett TT, A Look 486, a P3, a Kestrel KM40, a Colnago C50, Pinarello, Airborne, Felt, Litespeed and many others. It’s all about keeping the dream alive.
The key is to find a bike that expresses your personality (may require custom painting) and makes you feel invincible. Remember what Yogi said, "75% of is 50% mental. That new ride and your newfound passion will make you ride more which will make you faster. It will also clear up athlete’s foot and bad breath, make you more attractive to women (or men if that’s your thing) help you find a better job and cause your hair to grow back and your pecker to stand tall.
Like the Nike ad says, just do it…
Tri or road? What are using this bike for? What bike(s) do you have already?
Something with a shorter top tube than your Aegis ; )
.
Seriously, I think that is the best idea anyone has come up with when asked the same question. even if slowman cant make it you can go direct to Ves. And while in SoCal get to visit Nytro/B&L/Hi-Tech. maybe get in a ride with gary t, mike plumb and other ST. Sounds like a good weekend to me.
I think you should order a Cat Cheetah from their shop in Swiss, but instead of the trispoke wheels that they make, get a Ghibli rear and a Bora front. also, make sure the bike is built with a full Record gruppo. http://catbikes.ch/starte.htm
I’ll second (or triple) Craigster and SimpleS. Contact Ves and have him build you one. He built my Yaqui and it fits like a charm. If you take your own measurements, do it twice so he’ll have the correct information. Even better, visit his shop in the San Diego area . He’ll measure you up and talk off your ear
It depends if you want a bike that fits better or if you want your dream bike…
Sounds like you have some money to burn, so make friends with Herbert and go Litespeed Blade custom and you’re set for life.
Good luck
4 or 5 people have already beaten me to the punch here, but I’ll say it again anyway - pick up the phone (or sit down at your computer if you prefer) and get in contact with Ves Mandaric. He’ll hook you up with a bike that not only fits you perfectly, but that also handles optimally for you as well.
I swear I even climb better on my Yaqui. One of these weekends I’m going to have to do some testing to see for sure…
A great bike… too bad about the VH1 aerobars…
Excuse my knowledge of the US but Ohio is the adjoining state to Michigan, right? Drive or fly over to Dearborn and get a fit from Tom D or Mike A at Bikesport. The bike you should buy is the one that fits you, they will give you a selection of bikes/frames that will best suit your physique even if it is not one they sell.
Ok, I am a convert after getting fitted to my Kuota and the incredible difference that a correct fit gives.
Get the bike that fits best. I am partial to Quintana Roo…maybe you want to talk to Herbert here.
But, get a bike with 650 wheels!
