When I buy bananas, if I buy say, 8 bananas, then I want them to be varying degrees of ripeness, so that as I go through them I always have the option of a couple of “perfectly ripe” ones.
So no, I don’t want them packaged up like that, because I want to break 2-3 off each bunch, ranging from ripe, to almost ripe to not-at-all ripe.
Anyone who keeps buying a big bunch of greeny-yellow bananas, who then wishes the first couple were more ripe and then the last couple were less ripe, is an idiot.

Not sure if you were being ironic but most plastic that is recyclable either isn’t or isn’t being recycled. But that’s okay because we Canadians just send it to the Phillipines.

Good point. We reuse plastic grocery bags as kitchen garbage bags. When stores in Ontario started to charge for them, we bought a bunch of the ‘reusable’ bags.
The problem is that the ‘reusable’ bags seem to last only a year or two before they crack, peel and break. They are made of non-recyclable fibers and plastics, and have the mass of 10 old thin plastic bags. And now I find we are still buying the white kitchen garbage bags to put in our garbage.
Net effect is negative.
Who puts bananas in bags anyway? They conveniently come in attached bundles.
I used to work at a grocery store. Bananas weren’t packaged in any way. Most people did not put bags around them.

You post a pic of bananas (and some other random produce) wrapped in banana leaves, which supposedly replace the plastic packaging that those products typically don’t come packaged in anyway, and by pointing that out we’re trolling?
