Here he is on his Greenspeed Trike:

Man… nothin’ keeps this man down. Check out his journal here: http://sheldonbrown.org/journal/journal-0705.html
Thanks Sheldon, for everything.

Thanks for posting this, Khai. I hadn’t checked his journal for a couple of months. It’s nice to know that he’s hanging in there.
I use the resources on his website weekly. He has really provided a great service to the cycling community with his knowledge.
Steve
Thanks for posting. His website is awesome. Been using it for years. What’s the status of the Vanilla? Still thinking of putting s & s couplings on it?
Bump.
For folks who don’t know about Sheldon Brown here are two things to know:
(1) He loves bikes so much, that he rides a Trike around Boston because he has a neurological illness, has trouble walking, and cannot ride a regular bike anymore. (He actually recently tried a couple rides on a two-wheeler – taking a cane with him to get on the bike, and having to lay it down to get off.)
(2) He loves bikes so much that he’s created the most informative bike website I’ve ever seen. If you ever have questions about how your bike works, the place to start is http://www.sheldonbrown.com/
On Sheldon’s site you can find the answers to all the “will this work with that” questions. Warning: if you are at all interested in mechanical stuff, you may spend much time reading Sheldon’s site. Furthermore, he has some great articles that might even lure you (as they did me) to build/buy a fixed gear bike.
Excellent post. All hail Sheldon! His website is fabulous–it was an awesome resource when I started biking and still is. His article on how best to teach your kids to ride a bike, how/when to take the training wheels off etc. is gold.

Me too.

Yep. Going through his articles now and this guy is so passionate, it amazing. Great website and hope things get better for him.
I built one too. With all his info about how to do it, it would not be the same just to buy one (though I certainly admire those many beauties that you can buy new). You can really connect with a bike you built up yourself, and even more so when it is a fixed-gear – the ultimate basic, raw essence of cyciling.
He da man!
Every bike forum I’m on references Sheldon’s site for parts problems and questions. The breadth is awesome.
