is there a reason that we should be surprised? he needs his kona ticket punched somehow.
no, we all knew he needed another IM
the only thing was WHERE ? now we know
i actually think he blew his chances of winning kona at c’da, which surprised me. if you focus on your swimming over the next three months the door is open for you wim.
Let us remember that Lori and Peter have raced and won both IMC and IMH in the same year.
I think Simon is still the favourite going into IMH.
The favourite?!?!?
I think Lessing is great, and one hell of an athlete, but I don’t think ANYONE is the favourite yet for a race in October.

I thought Simon retired after last weekend
.
yeah, as soon as he saw I was going to Wisc. instead of Canada, he decided to enter!
Now your path is clear to clean up in Wisconsin.
Francois, please FINISH.

Didnt he get a kona ticket by winning the disney half?
Post: yeah, as soon as he saw I was going to Wisc. instead of Canada, he decided to enter!
I guess him entering moves me down one more slot in the IMC standings this year
I dont think they give pro slots at 1/2’s. I could be wrong though…
Remain positive dude…!
Just heard that Andrey Yastropov (sp?) is racing in Wisc. and Viktor Z will be skipping Kona and going to Florida! Z
I thought he might go up to the 1/2 Vineman to get his spot.
Coach D (TriFaster) set up a private pre-race talk with Simon and Michael Lovato on Saturday before IM CDA. It was with a small group of his clients and members of our tri club. He comes accross as a real decent guy with an auro of confidence which obviously is well earned.
The interesting thing was that after the talk I a couple buddies and I were walking out bikes to T1 and he came by on his new Javelin. We said hello and he joked that we would be much faster on a Javelin but conceded it is all the engine. We chatted for a minute or so and he mentioned he thought the new 70.3 series sounded interesting and the Dubai race was pretty significant as well for the pro ranks. Then we said our goodbyes and wished him luck. Seems like a real class guy and a great ambassador for our sport. Can you imagine Kobe Bryant interacting with fans like this?
cool…it’s fun to see plenty of team timex guys racing.
Damnit! There go my wins in Sept and in Nov!!

yeah he tried interacting with some female fans like that and look what it got him

Not necessarily, I’ve raced Tim DeBoom at IMOz before he went on to win Kona twice in a row, and Peter Reid the following year at IMOz who went on to win Kona the year after, and neither of them bumped me down in the standings
If you have a good day you’ll be surprised that you’ll finish ahead of plenty of people that are better athletes on paper or on another day !!
Good luck !
