Learning tri skills over winter

So I’m about to put the bike in the trainer until spring.

I plan to leave the shoes on the pedals the whole winter, so I’ll get plenty of practice slipping in and out of them while on the bike. Then next year, I’ll look like I know what I’m doing in transition, instead of stumbling out of T1 in my bike shoes like a dope. Maybe I’ll save some time, too.

Any other little skills/tricks I can/should practice in the off season?

I really feel like, although it looks cool, that “shoes on the bike” trick isn’t going to save you any time in a non-draft-legal race, unless you really have a hard time running in your bike shoes.
