looks like a great idea but i can’t believe the signal is going to be that great. i want to put a tv in the kitchen and would prefer not to drill holes in the walls since i want to sell the house. i’m don’t need hi-def so that’s not an issue, but i don’t want to watch a bunch of static/snow either.
I have one that I bought at Bestbuy as opened stock so it was greatly reduced…maybe $50.00. I have it hooked up to an old VCR in the basement that is connected to the cable. The receiver is in a 2nd story bedroom so the signal has to pierce 2 floors. The bottom line is that it works, but the picture is pretty grainy even with the paddle antennas facing each other. If someone bumps either one, the picture worsens. The audio signal isn’t as sensitive and the sound is always good.
Someday when I get time and motivation I’ll just run coaxial cable to the second floor.
thx crk, i ended up going with coax. i’m not drilling holes, i’ll just run the coax along the least obtrusive route. hopefully any potential buyers will see this as holes that i did not drill in their walls. HOPEFULLY.
