Le Wedge fitting

How do you do a home fitting for Le Wedge? Anyone know of any shops the Dallas area that uses them in a fit?

do you have some?

they come with simple, yet thorough instructions…

Start off with averages: I have measured hundreds of patients (not for LeWedge fittings, but for other reasons) forefoot and about 90% will fall into the typical 4-6 degrees of forefoot varus (which I think equates to 2 LeMond wedges). Just start off with 2 wedges (fat side on the inside towards the cleat) and see how it feels.

The little testing apparatus would be great, but studies have shown at least a 2 degree difference in measuring anyway by different people on the same test subject.

I’m close to the Dallas area and I use the wedges very often in positioning. For home use, I suggest not generally using more than 2 of the wedges for a start.

You still have a place to do fittings?

Yes, I have a nice set up here and am doing quite a few positions. I was just back at the windtunnel at A&M working on some new stuff. Like a lot of others that do positioning, Tom Demerly, Paul Levinee etc. I see a trend for the triathlon riders to be sitting up higher and exposing a lot of chest area. I’m working on a different way to set the aerobars to help mask this and get some more speed without sacrificing abunch of power. I’ll test about 20 riders of various shapes over the next couple of months and maybe get this working dependably.

Where are you located?

i’m in Tyler, Tx. about 85 miles east of Dallas. Lovely riding area and a bunch of great local road riders.

Sweet. Same location as before? I should be coming in soon.
