I’m not sure what kind of a look they were going for on this one…but that has got to be the most hideous ad they have ever put up. I guess by making the athletes look worse than they normally do people will be more apt to look at the clothes they are wearing. Andy Poots looks like the photographer said something to piss him off and he’s about ready to beat him to death and Chrissie looks a bit on the stoned side. I’m no marketing guru by any stretch but can someone tell me why they would want to photoshop these pictures and make them look like this?
That’s actually the second time they’ve run that ad. It appeared in InsideTri before this. It scared the piss out of me then too. Just really, really weird. Andy Potts looks like some sort of bad-ass Marine in some heavily edited Frank Miller-esque movie. It’s like “hey, buy our stuff if you are a total psycho.”
strange ad i know…anyone see the similar ad on the back cover of the April 2009 Triathlete Mag, the one with Desiree Ficker on the far right…its like a week of pool hair then a photo shoot…No justice there…see that one yet love2tri??

I agree. Creepy. Some graphics kid had some fun making that one, I’m sure. I wouldn’t ask him/her to do another one though.

Thanks. They have been using that color scheme for a while now. I think its to make the athletes look more edgy. Good advertising for trisports as well.
