I don’t think it would be profitable to attack the parade itself. But launching drones towards the air defences around Moscow would be a fair game. Imagine air raids sirens, missiles taking off, explosions etc. Who will dare to run first?
Apparently Operation Spiderweb when the Ukrainians snuck all those drones in trucks into Russia and hit a bunch of Russian aircraft at airports was planned for Victory Day but had to be delayed because all the pieces weren’t in place. Hopefully, the Ukrainians have another big surprise in the works.
A little bit of good news:
In northern Ukraine, it was boy vs. Russian drone. The boy won. | WaPo
An interesting peek into the current state of the war, but it’s a good news/bad news sort of thing.
Disgusting actions by the Russians.
Sober assessment of the perception that there has been a shift in Ukraine’s favor over the last few months.
More bad news for our favorite psychopath:
Well, it is hard to support a leader who’s war is going badly.
There’s no way this is actually effective, right? Because, if it is, color me amazed.
Very interesting thanks. I agree that it’s hard to believe that’s supposed to fool a drone’s guidance. I expect that we’ll see drone footage of them blowing that shit up, or zebra carcasses. It’s hard to guess how widespread that is, it looks very labor-intensive! ![]()
Sadly, the overnight missile attacks from the Russians continue to wreak havoc on Ukrainian cities, constantly killing civilians and destroying all kinds of infrastructure.
For some perspective, the number of Ukrainian civilians killed by the Russians so far is about a 1/4 or so of the number of Brits killed by the Germans in WWII or Vietnamese killed by the US in the Vietnam War, roughly 15k vs. 60k. So people have suffered worse and persevered to achieve victory.
Europeans are talking peace but not a mention of Russian’s withdrawal from occupied territories. Or is the withdrawal the just peace?
Not sure about all of the numbers, but the number of civilians killed in the Vietnam War credibly numbers in the hundreds of thousands.
