Latest In Ukraine War

Paranoia has started…more control, more limits. Maybe more falls from windows. Entering 5th year of war. Hardly holding 20% of Ukraine. Million + casualties. Ukraine’s kinetic sanctions. Black sea fleet destroyed. Somebody in Moscow are not happy.

It will be great if this senseless war ends soon. But I am not optimistic, Russia is in do or die mode and they can continue wasting their troops forever.

Cool video of a Ukrainian drone downing a Russian KA-52 helicopter.

I agree.

Except, nothing is forever.

That was cool, thanks. He did a good confirming it’s a rare feat.

Ust Luga fuel terminal hit again after pretty massive hits just a couple of days ago. Reports and video that the large population of migrant workers at the site are refusing to work with the expected crackdown from the Russian state.

In peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, an unusual proposal has reportedly emerged: naming a contested 50-mile-long, 40-mile-wide sliver of Ukraine’s industrial heartland “Donnyland,” a nod to both “Donbas” and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Ukrainian officials first floated renaming part of the Donbas region that Russia wants control over to “Donnyland” as part of an effort to get the Trump Administration to take a harder line against Russia’s territorial demands, people familiar with the monthslong negotiations told the New York Times.

Then everyone can bomb the crap out of it and nobody will care.

The big deal is that with Orban gone, Ukraine is likely to get its hands on the billions of seized Russian assets, which is enough to fund the their war effort for another 2 years.

Seems like a lot of pundits are saying the US is now largely irrelevant anyway. Ukraine has the upperhand even without much US assistance.

The Victory Day parade in Red Square will have no military equipment. You know, because they don’t have any.

Putin’s decision to hold parade with no military equipment suggests Ukraine may have the upper hand

Lol, I read this. Tanks destroyed, personel killed. And the threat from terrorists just acknowledges publicly that they are in range and the defense ineffective.

Everyone’s been saying this same crap ever since the war started………oh Russia is running out of supplies, running out of personnel, their population is gonna revolt when they can no longer buy macbooks, etc…………and it never matters. Here were are years later and they are still grinding away.

Pretty funny that Ukraine unilaterally declared a cease fire over the days before Moscow’s unilateral ceasefire for their parade, and said if you don’t violate our’s we won’t violate your’s.

Yes, all true.

But, here is the thing. Russia will grind away until …

… they can’t.

And then the collapse happens.

Speaking of collapse, this ain’t good news for Russia:

Vladimir Putin ‘fears assassination’ and ‘hides in bunkers’ over coup plot

That doesn’t seem nearly as remarkable as the fact that Ukraine is still grinding away as well. Seem to have the upperhand recently despite being all but abandoned by the US, and appear to have secured funding for at least another two years of war.

“How did you go bankrupt?” Bill asked. “Two ways,” Mike said. “Gradually and then suddenly”.

Bingo.

It is fascinating how that concept is quite difficult for many people to grasp. (I am pretty sure that we will also be facing a similar ‘gradually then suddenly’ situation for global heating as well, but that is a whole 'nother can of worms.)

Victory Day parade in Red Square

I’m imagining an empty street lined with widows and a swarm of drones flying in formation overhead.

The Governor of Perm Krai canceled their Victory Day parade. I didn’t know where that was, so I googled it. It’s quite a bit farther east than Moscow. Russia has issued a threat of massive retaliation if Ukraine attacks the parade in Moscow.
