Late season Ironman in Europe

Hi,

I am looking for a late season ironman in Europe. Ideally Sept or Oct but I have not found anything so far.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

.

Thanks. Have you raced any of the two? Any feedback.

There’s a good list of non m-dot races on http://www.k226.com/calendar.php

The ones listed for Sept (none in Oct) are:

September 1, 2007 The Big Woody, Ross on Wye, Wales United Kingdom http://www.thebigwoody.org.uk
September 2, 2007 Cologne226, Cologne Germany http://www.cologne226.com
September 9, 2007 Int. Bodensee Tri-Challenge, Rorschach Switzerland http://www.bodenseetri.ch/
September 30, 2007 Elbaman, Marina di Campo, Elba Island Italy http://www.elbaman.it/

If you want something slightly shorter - there are a couple at the old ITU Long Course distance (4km/120km/30km) :
Sept 8th, Triathlon Gerardmer XL, Gerardmer, France http://www.triathlondegerardmer.com/
Oct 7th, Home de Ferro, Ibiza, Spain, http://www.ibizaimpulso.com/homedeferro/en/

I might be tackling The Big Woody if I can recover from IMUK in 2weeks

Thanks. Have you raced any of the two? Any feedback.
I have done Elbaman last year and will do Bodensee this year.

Elbaman is a great race. It has the most beautiful (but slowest) Ironman bike course I know. 3/3 of the loop you have a view on the sea. You are riding trough small villages, chestnut woods (in the north) and Macchia in the south. It has >2500m of climbing.
The organization is Italian: not perfect but very friendly and familial. It is a small races (100-200starter) and therefore you won’t have any drafting problems.
And Elba is a beautiful island for holiday. German Race Report, photos.

Bodensee Tri Challenge starts in Switzerland. But the bike course passes trough Austria and is mainly in Germany. What I heard it is a well organzied race with a heard but beautiful bike course.
