Hi - Can anyone comment on their favorite place to swim in this area? I’ve checked out several YMCAs but it sounds like the water is kept extremely warm (82 deg). Any place with 50m lanes? Thanks, David
Carlsbad high school has a great masters program, and some lap swim hours…It is 25m though, good luck finding a 50m pool in the North county. I know one was planned for LaCosta some time back, dont know if it ever got done or started…
I usually swim at the Ecke YMCA in Encinitas or the Carlsbad Community Swim Complex adjacent to Carlsbad High. Check out the links for lap swim hours. Ecke is SCY and Carlsbad is SCM. I don’t find the water to be uncomfortably warm in either pool. Both pools have good Masters programs.
Unfortunately, there are no LCM pools in North San Diego County that I am aware of. The closest is the Jewish Community Center in La Jolla and I believe there is one at UCSD as well.
Try the masters swim program at UCSD. Info on the UCSD website. They welcome visitors for a small daily fee.
