Lap swim in Minneapolis area

Will be in the cities Thursday~Sunday, mainly Rosemont area, any place to swim close by?

lotsa places to do “long” laps in lakes “everywhere”

I can tell you about pools, but not near Rosemont. You might try the USMS (masters) website and search - that’s what I do when travelling.

If you want OWS check out Square Lake north of Stillwater. It’s a CRYSTAL clear lake and has a 200 yard wide roped beach area. So you can literally swim 200 yard laps and stand up nearly anytime. Or you can choose to swim the perimeter of the lake. There are bouys around the lake so safe from boats. Can’t beat it.

There are Lifetime Fitness centers everywhere here. I’m not sure what the charge for a daily fee is. I think the Lakeville one would be close to where you will be.

Lake Marion in Lakeville is very close to Rosemont. Start at Antlers Park Beach and follow the bouys on the right. You can easily get 2+ miles in on the lake… MAP

Bluewater Aquatic Center I think has a masters program too.

I used to visit frequently and always went to the Y downtown. Nice facility.

What is lake temp pushing in MN nowadays? YMCA pools in the area charge a nominal daily use fee I think but will get you 25yds and decent hours

Lake Rebecca, just West of the Metro was in the low 70s when I raced Liberty a little over a week ago.

There is a YMCA in Eagan with a 25M pool. It’s a few miles north of Rosemount.

Rosemount to Stillwater is something like an hour drive. There are plenty of lakes all over the area you can go swimming where you will be. Otherwise, you can lookup Lifetime Fitness like another has said, LA Fitness or the Y (YWCA or YMCA).

Find a lake, water temps are probably in the lower 70’s for most lakes anyways. I swam in one a couple of weeks ago with no wetsuit or swim cap and did ok (those hot/cold spots really aren’t so fun mid-exhale though).
