What do you guys think about buying a langster or pista for commuting purposes. I want some kind of fixed gear to ride to and from school and around basically everywhere. I was wondering if I should spend that much on a commuter bike. I will ride it almost everyday, except when it is real bad. I live in colorado so it is nice pretty much all the time so I don’t think it will get that messed up outside. I would ride it to school and have to keep it outside until I go home and then I will store it inside for the night. Good Idea or bad?

Which Pista are you looking at? The Langster is a pretty strong bike from what I have seen of friends’ models. I would say that the equipment on it has been designed more for road use than track use, and hence would seem a sound choice for you.
I looked at both of those, but ended up with one of these:

.
Any chance of it having fender mounts?
A better choice for commuting, I think.
I have a Pista. It’s fun, but were I to buy another bike solely for commuting I’d go with a Surly 1x1. The 1x1 gives you a bit more commuter-friendly set up (room for fenders, drilled for front and rear brakes, slightly more relaxed geometry).
Maybe next year if they give it a better paint job. I’d feel like stripping it and painting it the day I brought it home…
