Lane Rage

Being an ol’ timer in the sport, former lifeguard & ex-swim teammer, I got to witness something here at pool this morning in the City of Sails in Middle Earth: Lane rage.
Two people, one male & one female, had a go at each other. The lifeguards had to separate them. Incident reports were filed by the two people with the facility. The woman filed a complaint with the police. Both of these individuals do not liked to be passed, which is challenging, as lap swimmers only get 2 lanes and swim team gets the other 4 from 0600 until around 0730. “Thrasher,” the male, churns up more water than a jet boat is is armed in dangerous when he puts the paddles on while “Jammer,” the woman will not allow anyone to pass on the turn. I look it as open water practice having to dodge the two of them. At times it feels like a water polo match with the amount of body contact that takes place under the surface of the water. I think it’s match made in heaven, & it couldn’t happen to a nicer “couple.”

Sometimes I experience lane rage myself, but I keep it in my head. Outwardly I’m always nice, but I’m thinking of repeatedly dunking them while silently willing them to change lanes.

classic. where was this…the teps? we have plenty of jammers (mostly ignorant older dudes) over at newmarket…just about ready to crack some heads myself
