I watched a tape of Thursdays OLN coverage and if you look closely at Lance’s giro helmet when he is ready to TT in the Crit International, there are either no holes or there is a clear membrane on his helmet. Anyone with a better tape may be able to confirm that or perhaps my eye sight is a little off after seeing the newly expanded chick next to Bob Roll in the Road to the Tour Show. Holly scmolly.
yes that’s right. That’s been discussed over at TNO. I think I saw several of them with that clear plastic shield and not just Posties.

They mentioned that the riders are no longer permitted to wear non-protective “helmets”. So those aero helmets, which are basically aerodynamic shells offering little protection, are out. So, yeah, they’re wearing regular lids with the holes covered up to improve the aerodynamics a bit.

yes. talk about a golden opportunity to make a bundle of $ ! giro is non-commital to offering these covers to the public. all a fella need do is get a few popular helmets for molds, and crank some of these clear snap on covers out of the injection molder for mere pennies apiece.
whip up a big-ole poster of lance and millar et al using them, put it outside your car which you have parked outside the registration/expo of your local tri, and you would sell those mofo’s like hotcakes at 25 bucks a pop easy.
