This is from the UCLA cycling list: “You all are going to wish you came out to ride with me this morning! As I was climbing Fernwood, guess who I saw charging up behind me when I heard someone say “on your left”. That’s right, it was Lance. And he said “hi” as he passed. So I said “hi” back. Then, I was like kinda bewildered, like wow, that was just Lance crushing me up Fernwood. Then the chase vehicle passed, so I asked “Was that Lance”, and sure enough, “yes”. Then I said “Wow, people are going to be sorry they didn’t come out and ride with me!” So, they gave me a USPS cap as a memento in case you all don’t believe me! As I was descending Piuma, Lance was charging up. So there you go. Part of Lance’s workout: Fernwood and Piuma. Climb standing!”
