Lance on Twitter: Using 105 and reckons its hot

Hey All

Was just reading twitter and Lance says he is now up to 105 on his bike and reckons its hot. Bet most of you thought he would be a dura ace boy hey or sram red or campag but nup, his on 105… absolute man of the people, replicating the common man… how good is that… and to add further cred, reckons 105 is insanly hot.

Word on the street here in Adelaide is that his carbon forks have an alloy steerer, something to do with the speical geometry of the livestrong frame…

I don’t think its any secret that anything more expensive than 105 is just buying you a gram or two =)

This makes sense. I read a thig he wrote where he was also proving his book title ‘It’s not about the bike’ and using lower cost equipment. Also on the cards is a yellow Livestrong 105 group to be out before the Tour starts. I will dig up the link for you.

He is riding a bike with 105 during this week but will be on his good team bike once the racing starts.

He is going to raffle off the 105 livestrong bike this sunday evening after the unofficial crit. It was mentioned in the press conference I was at last night.

Sweet, lucky the crit is in the city centre otherwise a drop bear might get him.

Huge FAIL!

Lets see, todays’ temp in Adelaide is about 41C…

And he and the team are sponsored by SRAM (and yes he is a fractional owner)

He is wearing new kit however…Didn’t think he could race as a “man in black”. (Just train as one :slight_smile:

hope he has fun, looking forward to the 1st long TT in May at the Giro.

I sent him an email a couple of months back asking if I was wasting my time riding Sora. He’s reply was “I wouldn’t be too concerned, I won’t be on much better when I’m Down Under. Just keep working on your engine.”

Yeah till he proves himself a bit more the team probably won’t waste any good gear on him.
