Lance on Leno

I missed Lance on Leno tonight. Anything interesting?

I understand the OCC guys gave him the chopper. Did it look any better on TV?

Nope…still hideous looking!

He was also on Fox Sports’ “best damn sports show period” today, I think it’s being re-run right now, and there are probably clips on the web site.

he said he probably going to run the NYC marathon…

He said if he does the NYC marathon it will be slow. Made me laugh. Slow for Lance with 2 months training will 3 hour 30 min I bet. Add a little swim to everything and who knows… just dreaming. I stayed up way to late to see him. I haven’t been up that late in months.

I like that the yellow braclets are selling so well.

Just for fun…

My estimation (with little knowledge of his current condition to back me up) is that LA would do the following times:

NY Marathon right now: 3 hours

NY Marathon if he took 3 months to train for it: 2’30’ to 2’35’ range

IMH this year: S: 60’, B 3’55’, R 3’30’, T1&2 5’ Total: 8’30’

IMH next year with preparation and no cycle racing: S: 55’, B: 4’10’, R: 3’00’, T1&2: 5’ Total: 8’10’

This was a pointless exercise I know.

3:55? Gemme a break…

Faster or slower?

The guys from Orange County Chopper where on after him and they gave his foundation a sweeeet chopper. Doe lance ride motorcycles? They originally expected to sell 1 million bracelets and now they expect 15million! And he is doing the NYC Marathon for charity.

I recall reading somewhere that Lance liked to ride motorbikes with Lyle Lovett in the desert or mexico or something.

I could be wrong.

3:55? Why not 3:45? LOL

i’d say more like swim 55, bike 4:15, run 3:20 + 5 for transition ~ 8:30. If he trained for a year, he would go sub 8:10 as you suggested.

Maybe i will get to see him on the course, probably won’t be able to pass him though, unlike P-Diddy.

seriously, if he does it I am going to do my best to at least see him, think i will be the only one?

The bike and run times would be the exciting X factor to seeing Lance at Kona, but an hour swim? No way. I know he could swim once, but a dozen years away translates to an easy loss of 20+ seconds per 100. Think of all the yardage good athletes need to do weekly for years to get within range of :50-1:00. I think he’d be in the middle of the age groupers coming up the ramp…maybe 1:10-15.

If he wins his 7th next year, retires, and then sets his sights on something like an IM, though, every IM pro should be very nervous.

Nervous? I’d think they would be ecstatic…such a development (highly unlikely as it may be) would bring unprecedented publicity and therefore money into the upper echelon of the sport.

. . . of the bike and Lance test-riding.

Not as cool as some of their other theme bikes for sure. Mikey probably did the design.
