April Fools? The author “Sidd Finch” - I believe - is a fictitious character I think Sports Illustrated used a few years ago…
Seems very plausible, and it’s getting a lot of publicity…

Check out the link to the “Ironmanlie”…
That’s a real good April’s Fool Joke!!
No doubt it April Fool’s, check the date of the article.
“Sidd Finch” was the main character in one of the greatest April Fool’s joke played by SI, in '85. In an article written by George Plimpton, he claimed that Finch was a rookie in the Met’s camp (and a devouted student of Eastern mysticism), able to pitch a fastball at 168 mph. See George Plimpton’s, “The Curious Case of Sidd Finch,” Sports Illustrated, April 1, 1985, p.59.
Also note the reference to Lance’s “next book”.
Armstrong also revealed that he is working on third and final book of his contract with publisher Random House. The working title is “It’'s not about not being about the bike”.
Gotta love that line!

It would be cool to see but, at the bottom of the page,
“This website is a parody of the real VeloNews website. No Mailce, permission or ill-will is implied or claimed. April Fools is strictly implied.”

Someone beat me to it but the entire site in that link is a parody of the Velonews site. The URL for Velonews is: http://www.velonews.com and not http://www.velonewz.com
So Cheryl Crow is also going to compete! Here’s the funniest part: "Armstrong also revealed that he is working on third and final book of his contract with publisher Random House. The working title is “It’'s not about not being about the bike”.
Everyone check out the drop down menus on this page.
They are hilarious!!!

Hell, check out the whole page, including the “2003 Kona Race Photo”.
Much fun…ought to keep Mr. Tibbs up for a few nights imagining the possibilities!
T
hahaha, that was well done!
Check out the last paragraph:
“Armstrong also revealed that he is working on third and final book of his contract with publisher Random House. The working title is “It’'s not about not being about the bike”.” Funny.
The bottom of the page reads:
This website is a parody of the real VeloNews website. No Mailce, permission or ill-will is implied or claimed. April Fools is strictly implied.
Lance had mentioned a few years ago that after the 2004 season he may contemplate racing in Kona. However, he first wanted to see if he would:
-
still be winning the TdF
-
Win gold in the Olympics
-
I thought there was also something about the World Championships?
Anyway, I’d say look for Lance to toe the line the year AFTER he doesn’t win the TdF (which hopefully will be for at least 1 more year
Call me a goof but isn’t “Larson” spelled Larsen??? That was my first tip-off.
Didn’t Tri Lance say “Swimming is for the birds?” Or was that Kenny Souza??
